Hi
I would like to import my courses to the iphone but all I get when I click on Import/Export is an error message saying that my phone and my computer don't have the same wifi network etc.
When I first startetd the application and clicked on the import/export button, it showed me a message with a IP adress or something - how can I get back to that screen?!?!
cheers
Hello,
The application never shows an ERROR that iPhone and computer don't have the same WiFi net. If you navigate through: "New Item" -> "+" button (top right corner) -> "Import / Export" you will be presented with screen with IP address you must enter in your browser address field. On this screen there will be also a message saying that the iPhone and the computer must be within the same WiFi network - maybe that's the message you thought of as an error.
If you have further problems, please contact us using form at:

My iPhone does not support the WiFi feature and can only connet the internet by 2G or 3G.
Can I do the Import/Export via 2G or 3G?
Note: the iPhone saled in China does not support WiFi.
Unfortunately, WiFi is REQUIRED for Import/Export of user courses in SuperMemo app.
Thank you for your note, it is good to know (but unpleasant to hear).
Thanks for the reply. Wish in the future version a more general and convenient import/export feature is added. That is absolutely a must for the software.
"you will be presented with screen with IP address you must enter in your browser address field."
I've seen this message but didn't enter it in my browser adress field - I rather switched off my phone to do something else. Now, whenever I press the Import/Export button, I don't get the IP adress anymore but the messge I described before
In the future we are planning to do more integration with supermemo.net platform, so maybe it will be possible to do Import / Export to / from iPhone through supermemo.net (so via internet connection).
That's a bit strange. I can not reproduce this error. Have you tried restarting your iPhone?
Also, could you make a screenshot of the message (you can do screenshot on the iPhone by pressing and holding Power button and then pressing HOME button) and send it to me? (mariusz dot lisiecki at supermemo dot pl)
[EDIT] I managed to reproduce this message - by trying run the Import / Export feature in iPhone Simulator on my iMac. If restarting your iPhone will not help, please contact me by sending an email to the address I mentioned above.
HI there guys,
As with all of the other SM users, thanks heaps for the program it changed the way I approached medical school. I have been using the windows mobile supermemo for 4 years in conjunction with SM 2006 and I am considering the change to iphone. Just have a few questions:
1) I had a look on the version a friend had, it seemed like you could only import to version 1.1 in the Q & A format. This does not come with learning data and so will essentially clear all learning data on export from PC to iphone. Is this going ot be addressed in v1.2
2) On the export back from the iphone to the PC. The item numbers are not included (i think again because the export format is Q&A txt file). The import to the PC then creates new items with no learning history on import.
The combination of these issues means that while you can build the courses on your PC there is no opportunity to sync learning data in either direction with an iphone. Are these changes in the works for the next version?
Some of the upgrades you have highlighted in other posts look really great (especially syncing with supermemo.net). I suppose it's difficult to promise but is there an estimated release date for the next version?
Thanks, Ben.
Hello! The problem you highlighted was not addressed in v1.2. There were several minor bugfixes in Import/Export feature, but no enhancements were added to this particular funcionality.
However, the syncing funcionality should be a solution to your problem. For example, if you have your own course on supermemo.net, and you decide to synchronise the course (if it not present on the other platform, it will be created), the platforms will first synchronise the content of the course and after that will send the learning progress. Please note, that this is the scenario for user-created courses ONLY. Also remember, that as for now, user-defined courses on the iPhone can not include media or graphics, so these will not be synchronised. Maybe it will change in the future...
The syncing funcionality should be available in August, but please do not treat this a an official promise
