The whole point of supermemo is that you do it every day. The various "phrasebook" courses offered look terrific, but the pricing scheme is really terrible. It's a subscription service, and the cost is $5 per month, if I remember correctly.
I'm 38. If I live to be 80, that's 42 more years, or 504 months.
That means that to subscribe to a single phrasebook, it would cost me $2520 US. And that's for only a single phrasebook.
If you're 20 years old, you'll probably live to be 90, and it will cost you $4200 US.
This is why I don't pay for the phrasebooks. Sure, there's a free version, if you're interested in being able to ask "Is your watch accurate?" in twelve different languages.
The pricing should be a purchase, not a subscription. This encourages people to keep doing it the rest of their lives, which is the whole point.

ps: These numbers are without interest. Calculating compound interest (at 5%) the cost would actually be $8,519.60 for one phrasebook, for me. If your investments earn 14%, like mine do, the price is $119,442.53...See the compound interest calculator at http://www.moneychimp.com/calculator/compound_interest_calculator.htm
That means they're basically asking my 80 year old self to pay over 100 grand for a phrasebook. I recommend that nobody pay for the language subscriptions until they change their pricing.
Hi,
Thank you for your opinion and calculations. These numbers are really impressive indeed. Nevertheless, I can tell you that the problem has been already noticed by us and we have been working on changing the system of pricing. It will be changed pretty soon, as the work is advanced in this area.
As soon as we have precise information, we will surely inform about it.
Best regards,

Jimmy, what are you investing in that consitently returns 14% on an annual basis?
If you investments could consistently return 14% you wouldn't give a rat's ass about paying $5 for an online phrasebook. Get a grip pal.
