This issue has been resolved.  Cyrillic characters now upload fine.  Thank you for your prompt effort, it is appreciated.

    I tried importing a UTF-8 .txt file (with the structure zimny1534634 posted) into a chapter and it seemed to do something but I kept bouncing back to the chapters page. All I got was an empty exercise. Does the import only work for SuperMemo generated files? Or can someone please mail me an example file in the correct format to neomagic at gmx dot net?

      Import works for any WELL-FORMED Q&A file. Probably your file contains some bugs. Zimny1534634's example works fine for me. For example: import will fail if the first sign in the file will be different than 'Q' (e.g. space).

        Thanks a lot pavllo! It works now!

        All I wonder is why on earth the example starts with A instead of Q.
