I've been using Mnemosyne and I'd like to simply upload the courses that I've created in it. Mnemosyne can export in XML or "cuecard" .wcu format. Thanks!

Until now we were planing to implement only importing from Q&A file. But I think it is a good idea to add plain XML and wcu file formats also.

I cannot find out how to upload a Q&A txt file (made in SM06) to this site. Where am I not looking?

We'll make this option available during 2 weeks.

Are there any instructions available for how to use the Q&A upload?

Are there any instructions available for how to use the Q&A upload?

After selecting a Chapter item, a link titled "Q&A import" will appear between the Page Properties and Course Content lefthand sidebar headings. Upon selecting this link, the Q&A Import menu will appear.

            The menu:

            Q&A Import
            1. Questions and Answers are defined in XML: [checkbox]
            2. Use Question as page title: [checkbox]
            3. Question and answer code page: [ASCII UTF8 Windows1250 Windows1251 Windows1252 ISO Latin1]
            4. Pages name: [-blank-]
            5. Add counter to names: [checkbox]

            The menu, further explained:

            1. Questions and Answers are defined in XML: [checkbox]

When checked, any attached XML code formatting will be activated in rendering your page. Otherwise, if not checked, XML code will appear as simple text in your page. Put practically:

When checked, "Poland" will render as "Poland" in a larger font.
When not checked, "Poland" will render as "Poland" (in normal font size).

Thus if you are using XML codes, be sure to check this option so that they will be properly rendered.

            2. Use Question as page title: [checkbox]

When checked, Q&A Importing will use the "Q: ..." entry of each QA set to name each item in the Course Content tree structure. When unchecked, items will be named by option 4 (see below).

            For example:
            Q: Poland
            A: Warsaw

This QA set will be named "Poland" when the box is checked; if not checked, the entry in option 4 (see below) will be used. It should be noted that this naming of items is only for ease in the internal navigation of the Course Content tree structure, and will not affect the presentation of the page when learning using Supermemo.

            3. Question and answer code page: [ASCII, UTF8, Windows1250, Windows1251, Windows1252, ISO Latin1]

This option sets the encoding to be read from your QA file. For most simple textpads the default option (ASCII) will work. For best results, determine the encoding of your QA file in it's own properties. For example, ASCII encoding will not properly render letters in the Cyrillic alphabet; UTF8, however, will.

            4. Pages name: [-blank-]

An entry in this blank will appear as the item name in the Course Content tree structure for all uploaded QA sets in your QA file (provided that you have not checked option 2 above, which supersedes this option).

            5. Add counter to names: [checkbox]

Selecting this checkbox will incrementally add numerals to your uploaded QA items in the Course Content tree structure (provided that you have not checked option 2 above, which supersedes this option).

Finally, be aware that at present, Q&A Importing appends new items to the last position of the lowest Chapter entry available – rather than the last position of the currently selected Chapter entry. This will have to be rectified in future updates to the site.

Further be aware that as the implementation of Q&A Importing in the new Supermemo.net site has come very recently, any of the above is subject to change or be added to.

You can import supermemo tags (spellpad, checkbox, radio, etc.) as well!

This doesn't seem to be working for me. What should the format be for the questions to upload? I am using

                Q: Insert question here.
                A: Answer.

I put a bunch of these in a text file like I did for the old version of online supermemo. When I click OK it sends me back to the "Courses" tab. All that has been added is a blank supermemo exercise called "import."

                What am I doing wrong?

I import a file with such content:

                  A: 1
                  Q: one

                  A: 2
                  Q: two

                  A: 3
                  Q: three

                  A: 4
                  Q: four

                  A: 5
                  Q: five

                  A: 6
                  Q: six

                  A: 7
                  Q: seven

                  A: 8
                  Q: eight

                  A: 9
                  Q: nine

                  A: 10
                  Q: ten

                  and it works fine!

Ah ha! Turns out I had an xml tag with a typo in it. This suggests an idea for online supermemo: perhaps the default should be that if a typo is encountered when uploading that exercise should be uploaded as plain text. It is hard to find your mistake if you don't know where to look.

BTW I love supermemo! Thanks for making this.
