English Idioms is a course that comprises 3 500 idioms in the English language. The idioms are ordered from the most popular (e.g. ups and downs) to the most surprising (e.g. to know one’s onions). The exercises are based on definitions that lead to correct idioms. The answer mode of the exercise also provides a context sentence for each idiom, which is an excellent feature of the course.The course is monolingual, with all the instructions in English. All the definitions and idioms were recorded by British native speakers.
The knowledge of idioms in a foreign language reflects advanced skills of the user, as it allows to formulate diversified messages and is especially important in oral production.
